60 years ago, The Beatles landed in America for the first time to play on the Ed Sullivan Show on Feb. 9, 1964….  It was the first of 3 consecutive appearances on The Ed Sullivan show that were monumental in introducing The United States to what would become the most consequential music group in history. Their first appearance on February 9, was seen by over 73 million viewers and came to be regarded as a cultural watershed that launched American Beatlemania and, in turn, the musical” British Invasion” which brought us many more famous English acts.
