All ages. In 1990, Professor Joe Mattys’s late wife, Marilyn, adapted Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” as their very first theatre production at Randoph-Macon. This 60-minute stage version drew heavily on the language and characters of Dickens’ novella, and like the original, it proved immensely popular: it was produced annually at R-MC for the next twenty-five years. Professor Mattys’s 40-minute version is itself an adaptation of Marilyn’s version of this timeless classic.
