Carter Park

This park is located between South Center Street and Maple Street and consists of about 13.5 acres, most of which is heavily wooded. Carter Park is the centerpiece of the Ashland park system. It contains a junior Olympic size swimming pool, one-half basketball court, a picnic shelter and picnic area, playground, and gravel trails in the woods.

If you’re riding through or in Ashland we have a bike repair station located in the parking lot nearest Ashcake Road. There’s also plenty of parking for folks who want to visit the Ashland Trolley Line Trail, which is the most northern section of the regional Fall Line Trail.
