Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Artist Jerry Peart

Ashland mourns the passing of internationally acclaimed sculptor Jerry Linn Peart, who passed away peacefully at his home on October 12, 2025, at the age of 77. Known for his vibrant, lyrical abstractions that transformed public spaces across the country, Jerry was not only one of America’s most influential sculptors but also a beloved member of the Ashland community.

To honor his extraordinary life and work, the Peart family invites the public to a special celebration, “Jerry Lives On!”, on Saturday, November 8, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. at Jerry’s Studio – the Red Barn at 12438 Elmont Road, Ashland, VA 23005.

This open-house exhibition will feature selections from Jerry’s personal archives, notes, and portfolio, revealing the scope of a career that produced more than 35 large-scale public sculptures across five countries and 30 states. Guests will enjoy light refreshments, including some of Jerry’s favorite treats, and are encouraged to come share stories, reflections, and inspiration drawn from his art and life.
